State Leadership Conference Recap and National Qualifiers

2016-2017 Nevada HOSA State Leadership Conference was held in Reno on March 19th through March 22nd. The conference was held in The Nugget, and students showed off their skills at competitions at TMCC and REMSA. Forty-three Elko High Health Science students attened state this year from Elko High School. The following students competed in these categories:
Medical Assisting- Ashley Bourke, Bailee Guenin, Amber Hetland, Jasmine LeGrand, & Kaylee Talamantes
Physical Therapy- Evan Bell, Perry Stewart, & Haley Velasco
Biomedical Laboratory Science- Phoebe Fagoga
Health Career Display- Gaby Gonzalez and Daisy Uribe
Medical Spelling- Alise Hulford
Forensic Medicine- Taylor Avery & Eder Lujan, Kacie Bell & Juan Rodriguez, Raini Jonson & Genna Peterson, Emerald Amponsah & Izi Silva-Castro, Kinnady Lostra & Angelique Martinez, and Zoee Rivas & Amy Silva
Nursing Assisting- Kylie Martin, Kaprice Rowland, & Alondra Talamantes
Job Seeking Skills- Skylar Williams
EMT- Lauren Dimick & Arizona Webb, Anna Miklovic & Joseph Roloson
CPR & First Aid- Haylee Napoles & Perla Salas, Harriet MacNevin & Chloe Overlie, Kylee Kinzie & Amy Rigby

While at state three students also ran for HOSA State Officer, which were: Kinnady Lostra, Kaprice Rowland and Alondra Talamantes.
At state there were educational Symposiums to attend that provided interesting facts and information.
While in Reno, Elko High School state participants went to a chapter dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and had group bonding at the Fly High Trampoline Park.
